Securing the Future of Edina Public Schools

I’m running for the Edina School Board because I want every student to graduate ready for the opportunities and challenges ahead. As a parent, community leader, and expert in AI and workforce transformation, I have a front-row seat to how quickly our world is changing. Edina already has a strong foundation. My goal is to help us build on it by protecting academic excellence, investing in the activities that shape well-rounded students, and preparing every graduate with the skills, character, and confidence to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.

My Priorities for Edina

Academic Excellence and Future-Ready Learning

My goal is to ensure every student receives a strong academic foundation while preparing for the world ahead. That means maintaining high standards in core academics while embracing innovative teaching approaches, new learning pathways, and responsible use of AI and technology so students graduate ready to adapt, contribute, and thrive.

Lead with Transparency, Listening, and Partnership

In a community like Edina, people care deeply about our schools and have strong opinions about their future. I will listen, communicate clearly, and engage families, students, educators, staff, and community members early and often. I believe better decisions are made when those closest to the work have a voice. We must also understand what keeps families choosing Edina Public Schools and continue strengthening the experience that attracts and retains students.

Strategic Investment, Sustainable Future

Strong schools require strong financial stewardship. I believe the school board has a responsibility to be transparent about how taxpayer dollars are spent, make thoughtful decisions about district priorities, and ensure resources are directed to what has the greatest impact on students. We should spend taxpayer dollars wisely, focusing resources on programs and priorities that deliver meaningful results for students and families.

Future-Ready Graduates

I believe Edina should lead, not follow, in preparing students for a rapidly changing world. This is not about chasing the latest technology trend. It is about ensuring students graduate with the critical thinking, judgment, problem-solving, and adaptability skills they need to succeed, while ensuring educators have the training and support needed to evaluate new tools thoughtfully and responsibly.

Technical and Creative Skills

As technology and AI reshape the world of work, uniquely human skills become even more important. I believe students need both technical and creative capabilities to thrive in the future. Preparing students for the future means investing in both STEM and the arts, not choosing one over the other.

Where I Stand on Key Issues

Safe Schools

I believe every student deserves to walk into school each day focused on learning, not safety concerns. As a Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate, I support evidence-based approaches to reducing gun violence and strengthening school safety. I am also committed to addressing the impact of screen time and device use on student well-being.

Clear Standards and Accountability

I believe our schools should maintain high standards for behavior and conduct. Students, families, and staff should know what is expected, what happens when expectations aren't met, and trust that those standards are applied consistently across the district.
